Working Together: Our Terms and Conditions

Terms and conditions

Indiana Fine Woodworking
Last Updated: December 20, 2025

1. Agreement to Terms
By engaging Indiana Fine Woodworking ("we," "us," or "our") for custom woodworking services, you ("client" or "you") agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

2. Services Offered
We provide custom woodworking services including but not limited to furniture creation, cabinetry, millwork, restoration, and related woodworking projects. Each project is quoted individually based on design, materials, and labor requirements.

3. Quotes and Estimates
All quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issuance. Quotes are estimates based on the information provided and may be subject to adjustment if project scope changes. Final pricing will be confirmed before work begins.

4. Design and Approval
Clients will be provided with design drawings, sketches, or digital renderings as appropriate for project scope. Client must approve the final design before production begins. This approval must be 1) in writing or 2) payment of deposit. Changes to approved designs may result in additional charges and timeline extensions.

5. Payment Terms
Deposit: Deposits are non-refundable as they secure materials, shop time, and opportunity cost. In extraordinary circumstances, and at our sole discretion, we may allow deposits to be transferred to a future project within 12 months of cancellation.
Progress Payments: Additional payments may be required at agreed-upon milestones for large projects
Final Payment: The remaining balance is due upon project completion and before delivery or pickup
Accepted Payment Methods: Cash, check, credit card, or bank transfer
Late Payments: Invoices not paid within 15 days of the due date may incur a late fee of 1.5% per month

6. Materials
We use high-quality materials appropriate for each project. While we make every effort to match wood grain, color, and characteristics to client preferences, natural variations in wood are expected and not considered defects. Clients may upgrade to premium materials at additional cost.

7. Timeline and Delivery
Project timelines are estimates and may vary due to material availability, complexity, or unforeseen circumstances. We will communicate any significant delays promptly. Delivery or installation fees may apply and will be specified in the project quote.  Standard project timelines are provided in quotes. Rush services may be available for an additional 25-50% fee depending on schedule and project scope.

8. Cancellations and Modifications
Client Cancellation: If a client cancels after work has begun, the deposit is forfeited and client may be responsible for costs of materials purchased and labor completed
Project Modifications: Changes to approved designs must be requested in writing and may result in additional charges and timeline adjustments
Our Cancellation: We reserve the right to cancel a project if client fails to make required payments or cooperate with the design process

9. Installation Services
If installation is included in your project, we will coordinate scheduling with you. Client is responsible for ensuring the installation site is accessible and prepared (clear of obstacles, level surfaces, etc.). Additional charges may apply for work beyond the scope of the original installation agreement.

10. Warranty and Defects
We warrant our workmanship for a period of one year from the date of delivery or installation. Warranty coverage includes repair or replacement of defective workmanship at our discretion. Client is responsible for transportation costs for warranty service but does not cover:

- Normal wear and tear
- Damage from misuse, abuse, or improper care
- Damage from environmental factors (extreme humidity, temperature, etc.)
- Natural wood movement, expansion, or contraction
- Finish wear in high-traffic areas
- Damage caused by third parties or acts of nature

11. Care and Maintenance
Client is responsible for proper care and maintenance of completed work. We will provide care instructions appropriate to the materials and finish used. Failure to follow care instructions may void warranty coverage.

12. Liability Limitations
Our liability is limited to the repair or replacement of defective work covered under warranty. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by the client for the specific project.

13. Photography and Promotion
We reserve the right to photograph completed projects for portfolio, marketing, and promotional purposes unless client objects in writing prior to project completion.

14. Intellectual Property
All designs created by Indiana Fine Woodworking remain our intellectual property. Clients receive a license to have the specific piece constructed but do not acquire rights to reproduce the design without written permission.

15. Storage
Completed items will be stored for up to 14 days after client notification of completion at no charge. Storage fees of $25 per day may apply thereafter. After 60 days, unclaimed items may be considered abandoned and disposed of or sold to recover storage costs. Client will receive written notice before disposal.

16. Disputes and Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana. Any disputes shall be resolved through good faith negotiation or, if necessary, through binding arbitration in Indiana under the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

17. Force Majeure

Neither party shall be liable for delays or failures in performance resulting from acts beyond reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, war, government restrictions, pandemics, labor disputes, or supplier delays

18. Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full effect.

19. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will apply to projects initiated after the date of modification.
